A draft memorandum of understanding reportedly prepared between Iran and the US has been published. The draft calls for an immediate and permanent end to hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.
The text states that Iran will reaffirm its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons. In return, the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets is targeted.
The draft also indicates that the US and its allies will offer a support plan of at least $300 billion for Iran's reconstruction. The lifting of the naval blockade and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days are also among the key points in the document.
The document notes that Iran's missile program and its support for resistance groups in the region will not be part of the negotiations. The current status of the draft and the official stance of the parties regarding this text remain unclear.
