Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen said the Kingdom of Denmark’s red lines were upheld in the agreement reached with the United States on Greenland. Frederiksen said Greenland’s right to self-determination would remain important in the future.
Frederiksen said she would not disclose the details of the agreement until a signed text was available.

There is a great deal of speculation. I understand the strong interest in the contents of the agreement, but I will not go into the details until we have a signed agreement.
Greenland’s Foreign Minister Mute Egede also said there was no reason for Greenlanders to be concerned about either their own future or Greenland’s future.

Trump announced the agreement on September 18
U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a post on his social media account on September 18 that they had reached an agreement with Denmark on Greenland.
Greenland, an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, has a population of approximately 56,000. Trump’s statements that the United States should establish control over Greenland had made the territory a source of tension between Washington and Copenhagen and Brussels.
