Germany's Chancellor Merz Gave Trump a Fake German National Team Jersey
The German national team jersey that Chancellor Friedrich Merz gifted to US President Donald Trump at the G7 Summit in France has turned out to be counterfeit.
It has been revealed that the German national team jersey gifted by Chancellor Friedrich Merz to US President Donald Trump at the G7 Summit in France was counterfeit.
Experts examining the jersey found an error in the number 47 on its back, which was chosen because Trump is the 47th US president. The original value of the gift was 150 euros.
The Chancellery office, in a statement to the Berliner Zeitung newspaper, stated that the gift was original and that the jersey number was printed elsewhere due to time constraints.
The incident has sparked debates in the public and media.
