Liège has prohibited gatherings of more than three people after fresh unrest at student demonstrations against savings measures planned for education in Belgium’s French-speaking community, Anadolu Agency reported.
Footage from Belgium on Friday showed large crowds of young protesters as police used tear gas, with some demonstrators climbing onto building ledges.

More than 100 arrests since Oct. 1
The protests, which began in France and spread to Belgium last week, have been led by secondary school pupils who say they are also standing with their teachers. On Monday, 18 police officers were slightly injured in Liège as about 1,000 demonstrators moved through the city in small, mobile groups, and 53 people were detained on Tuesday alone, bringing arrests since Oct. 1 to 107, according to Belgian media.
