Macklemore wrapped up the European leg of his Free Palestine tour this week with sold-out shows in Paris and London, meeting children from Gaza and closing the final night in a T-shirt calling for the release of jailed Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti.
Before his Oct. 29 concert at Paris' Accor Arena, the Seattle rapper met four children and teenagers from Gaza, some of them wounded in the war, who are supported by the humanitarian group HEAL Palestine. Photos released by the group show him chatting with the children and walking alongside a girl on crutches.
'Free Marwan' on the final night
At the tour's final show on Oct. 30 at London's OVO Arena Wembley, Macklemore wore a shirt reading "Free Marwan," a show of solidarity with Barghouti.
A senior Fatah figure, Barghouti has been held in Israeli prisons since 2002 and was sentenced in 2004 to five life terms.

UN rapporteur joins him onstage
Francesca Albanese, the U.N. special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, joined Macklemore onstage in London to speak about Palestinian resilience, and Husam Zomlot, the Palestinian ambassador to Britain, presented him with an olive wood gift containing Palestinian soil.
The tour, billed as "Macklemore and Friends," also played Dublin's 3Arena on Oct. 26, with all three shows selling out. Proceeds go to 12 organizations supporting Palestinians, including Gaza Soup Kitchen, Medical Aid for Palestinians and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.
Macklemore was dropped in September from Ed Sheeran's U.S. Loop Tour after calling for a free Palestine while opening for Sheeran at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Sheeran has said the promoter, not he, made the decision. More U.S. dates for the Free Palestine tour are expected to be announced.
