President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with representatives of leading U.S. think tanks in New York as part of his diplomatic engagements surrounding the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting was organized in coordination with the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA) and brought Erdoğan together with representatives of the U.S. policy and research community.
The gathering was held behind closed doors, and no detailed information was released regarding the participants’ discussions or specific issues addressed during the meeting.
The think tank meeting formed part of Erdoğan’s broader program in New York, where he held a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings with world leaders, international officials, business representatives and members of the Turkish-American community.
Erdoğan’s New York visit also coincided with a series of events focusing on Türkiye-U.S. relations as the two countries approach the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
During his engagements with the American business community earlier in the visit, Erdoğan highlighted cooperation between Türkiye and the United States in areas including trade, investment, energy, defense and technology, while emphasizing the long-term goal of increasing bilateral trade volume to $100 billion.

Türkiye’s Diplomatic Engagements in New York
Erdoğan traveled to New York to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he addressed world leaders and held meetings with a number of heads of state and government.
His diplomatic agenda included discussions on bilateral relations as well as major regional and global issues, including developments in Gaza, the Russia-Ukraine war, Iran, Black Sea security and international efforts to address ongoing conflicts.
Alongside official diplomatic meetings, Erdoğan’s program included engagements with Turkish-American business circles, representatives of Turkish citizens living in the United States and members of the U.S. think tank community.
The meeting with U.S. think tank representatives was among Erdoğan’s final engagements during his four-day visit to New York before departing the city following the conclusion of his UN General Assembly program.
