Turkish Airlines has finalized a major agreement with Boeing for up to 150 737 MAX aircraft as part of the carrier’s long-term fleet expansion strategy.
The agreement was concluded in New York at a signing ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was in the city for the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines placed a firm order for 100 Boeing 737-8 aircraft and secured options for 50 additional 737 MAX jets.
The deal also provides Turkish Airlines with flexibility to convert part of the order to the larger 737-10 model depending on the carrier’s future fleet requirements.
The new aircraft are expected to strengthen Turkish Airlines’ short- and medium-haul network while supporting the carrier’s continued expansion from its global hub in Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines and Boeing Expand Partnership
The agreement marks Turkish Airlines’ largest-ever single-aisle aircraft order with Boeing and further expands the long-standing partnership between the two companies.
The new 737 MAX aircraft are expected to provide greater operational efficiency and flexibility as Turkish Airlines continues to expand its international network.
The cooperation between Turkish Airlines and Boeing will also extend beyond aircraft deliveries, with both companies working on initiatives involving technology and knowledge transfer, workforce development, capability building and new industrial opportunities within Türkiye’s aviation ecosystem.

The latest agreement follows Turkish Airlines’ previous deal for 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and represents another major step in the airline’s long-term fleet modernization and growth strategy.
Turkish Airlines and AJet currently operate more than 200 Boeing aircraft, including 737 MAX, 737 NG, 787 Dreamliner, 777 and 777 Freighter models.
