Iranian Parliament Speaker Qalibaf said the seven conditions put forward by Iran must be implemented for the Strait of Hormuz to be opened.
Qalibaf said the US had made a proposal to Iran through mediators, contrary to statements reflected in the media. Saying that the era of unilateral demands had ended, Qalibaf argued that the US was aware of Iran's determination.

The Iranian Parliament speaker claimed that, in addition to the US economic pressure and military initiatives, Washington had also intensified its threatening rhetoric. He said Iran shaped its policy based on facts, not on threatening statements circulating online.

Qalibaf also argued that contradictory statements by US officials were aimed at confusing the Iranian public.
When the Iranian delegation traveled to the United States on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, it presented seven conditions for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz under Qatar's mediation. US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, said they had not accepted Iran's conditions.
