A support campaign has been launched for Sıtkı Kazancı, a prominent and longtime member of the Turkish-American community and the founder and publisher of TurkNetwork Magazine.
Kazancı, who has contributed to the Turkish community in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia area for many years, has reportedly been receiving treatment for a serious health condition, with his recovery process still ongoing.

Due to his health problems, Kazancı has been unable to work for an extended period and has consequently been without a regular source of income. The campaign aims to help cover expenses related to his ongoing treatment as well as his essential living costs.
CALL FOR SOLIDARITY FROM THE TURKISH-AMERICAN COMMUNITY
The campaign has prompted a call for solidarity among members of the Turkish-American community in Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas.
The funds raised are intended to support Kazancı during his continuing treatment and help ease the financial burden caused by his prolonged absence from work.
For years, Kazancı has been involved in efforts to bring members of the Turkish-American community together and amplify the community's voice in the United States. Now, members of that same community are being asked to stand by him during a difficult period.

YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE TURKISH-AMERICAN COMMUNITY
Sıtkı Kazancı is particularly known for his longstanding work within the Turkish-American community in the Washington metropolitan area.
Through TurkNetwork Magazine, Kazancı has highlighted the activities, achievements and community initiatives of Turkish Americans, helping connect members of the diaspora and increase their visibility.
He has also played an active role in Turkish-American civil society organizations.
Kazancı previously served as president of the American Turkish Association of Washington, D.C. (ATA-DC). An Assembly of Turkish American Associations program from 2020 also listed him as president of ATA-DC.

In 2025, Kazancı was involved in the publication of “Welcome Guide 2025,” a practical guide designed to help Turkish newcomers adapt to life in the Washington, D.C., area.
HE ALSO SUPPORTED EARTHQUAKE RELIEF EFFORTS
Kazancı was also actively involved in humanitarian efforts following the devastating earthquakes that struck Türkiye on February 6, 2023.
During fundraising efforts organized in the United States for earthquake victims, Kazancı announced that approximately $200,000 had been raised, with organizers working toward a target of $250,000.
He also supported efforts involving volunteers at the Turkish Embassy in Washington to collect, prepare and transport humanitarian supplies to Türkiye.
More than 60 tons of humanitarian aid collected in the United States were transported from Dulles International Airport to Incirlik Air Base as part of the relief operation.
THIS TIME, THE CALL FOR SUPPORT IS FOR SITKI KAZANCI
After years of contributing to solidarity efforts within the Turkish-American community, Kazancı is now the person for whom support is being sought.
Organizers say his treatment is continuing and that being unable to work because of his health condition has also created significant financial difficulties.
The campaign therefore aims to contribute toward both his medical expenses and basic living costs while his recovery continues.

As the appeal begins circulating across social media and within the Turkish-American community, its central message is one of solidarity: a man who spent years supporting and bringing his community together is now in need of that community's support.
