U.S. President Donald Trump said in a statement to political commentator Glenn Beck that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is alive but has severe injuries on the left side of his body.
Trump said the left side of Khamenei’s body, including his arm and leg, was seriously injured.
Trump also questioned the Iranian government’s statement that it was in regular contact with Khamenei, arguing that if Khamenei had died, such statements would create the appearance of success before the public. Trump also predicted that the war with Iran would end very soon.
Trump reiterated his claim that the United States had reopened the Strait of Hormuz. He said 10 million barrels of oil had passed through the strategic waterway on Tuesday and that 22 ships had traveled safely overnight.
The U.S. president said they had achieved a victory in Venezuela and would secure a major victory on Iran in a short time.
