U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order proposing changes to government recommendations on childhood vaccinations.
The measure is intended to provide parents with more information and options about vaccines. It proposes replacing the existing recommendations targeting 18 diseases for all children with new guidance targeting 11 diseases.
Three separate administration options for the MMR vaccine
The proposal calls for the combined MMR vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella to be divided into three separate vaccines. The vaccines are planned to be administered at different appointments to give parents options regarding the timing.
