Tatyana Kim, CEO of Russian e-commerce platform Wildberries, announced that the attacks on the company have caused international damage. She noted that entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan and China who trade on the platform have suffered billions of rubles in losses.
"Tens of thousands of people from different countries trade in the Wildberries ecosystem. Attacks on Wildberries' infrastructure are attacks on innocent civilians," Kim said, also denying the claim that the company sells military-purpose products, used to justify these actions. She stressed that the platform offers a general product range like Amazon or Alibaba.
Warehouses reinforced, most attacks thwarted
CEO Kim explained that the logistics centers are equipped with all necessary protection means and that systems are modernized daily. "The fact that we successfully thwart the vast majority of attacks is direct proof of this," she said.
Two-stage support for sellers
Kim said that sellers whose products were damaged in the attacks are receiving financial support in two stages, and that major partners have been offered additional discounts and deferral of credit payments. Noting that the logistics infrastructure is being rapidly reorganized, she said, "We are distributing our partners' products across different logistics facilities to maintain delivery speed and product circulation."
Government aid package under discussion
Tatyana Kim said they are discussing comprehensive support measures for entrepreneurs with the Russian government, and that the aid package being prepared will be announced in the coming days.
Ukraine has recently been carrying out intense attacks on various Wildberries logistics centers.
