Türkiye's Ambassador to the United States Sedat Önal and the Consul General in Miami, Ambassador Yeşim Kebapcıoğlu, met members of the Turkish community in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia, bringing together business people, academics and students living in the region.
In his remarks, Önal said Turkish-American relations are going through a very positive period, helped by exceptional high-level dialogue, institutional coordination and close regional cooperation, and highlighted the role of the Turkish-American community in strengthening ties between the two countries.

Önal also stressed the need for the Turkish community in the U.S. to act in unity and solidarity, saying academics and business people should take on greater responsibility in that effort. The embassy thanked the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeast (TACCS), the Turkish American Cultural Association of Georgia (TACAGA) and the American Turkish Friendship Council (ATFC) for helping organize the gathering.
