The co-chairs of the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Türkiye Relations and Turkish Americans have congratulated the people of Türkiye and Turkish Americans on the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic on Oct. 29.
The statement, released Oct. 26 by Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), was issued jointly with Reps. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) and Aumua Amata Coleman Radewagen (R-American Samoa).

Lawmakers praise Atatürk's legacy and NATO partnership
The lawmakers credited Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with establishing the Republic in 1923 and with the reforms that followed. They described Türkiye as a pivotal partner in global peacebuilding, pointing to its role in NATO, its hosting of the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara and its work on regional de-escalation and security.
Caucus looks ahead to a century of diplomatic ties
The statement also marked 74 years of Türkiye's NATO membership and looked ahead to the 2027 centennial of diplomatic relations between the United States and Türkiye, expressing hope for deeper strategic, economic and cultural ties between the two allies.
Wilson met with Turkish Americans in Miami earlier this month to discuss U.S.-Türkiye relations.
