Türkiye's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York marked UN Day on Oct. 24, the 81st anniversary of the organization's founding.
"Türkiye remains committed to contributing to the UN's work across its three pillars while supporting efforts to strengthen multilateralism and make it more effective and responsive to global challenges," the mission said, referring to peace and security, development and human rights.
Erdoğan calls for Security Council reform

In his UN Day message, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called for the UN Security Council to be reshaped into a fairer and more inclusive body. He said the crises stretching from Gaza, where he said more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed, to other regions show how urgent that need is.
Erdoğan said Türkiye supports UN Secretary-General António Guterres's UN80 Initiative, a reform drive launched to mark the organization's 80th year, and is working closely with the organization toward its goal of turning Istanbul into a UN hub. The Turkish Foreign Ministry also reaffirmed Ankara's commitment to the UN's efforts for a more just, peaceful and prosperous world.
