An innocent employee was targeted in a shooting Friday evening at a Walmart store in Darby Township, Pennsylvania. According to Police Chief Michael Sousa, an argument between two men at the self-checkout area turned violent when a suspect pulled out a firearm.
The suspect fired indiscriminately, striking a female Walmart employee in the leg instead of the person he had been arguing with. The injured worker was immediately taken to the hospital; no update on her condition has been released.
After the attacker fled, police are reviewing security camera footage to identify the suspect. The store and nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution. Police Chief Sousa stated there was no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
