President Donald Trump campaigned for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall in Park City, Kansas, on Oct. 19, about two weeks before the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
Pointing to the unrest in France, Trump suggested, without offering evidence, that similar scenes could follow if Republicans lose control of Congress. "That is what the radical Dumocrats want to do to America," he said. He also targeted Marshall's Democratic challenger, Methodist pastor Adam Hamilton. "I love you Kansas, but I'm here for a guy named Roger Marshall," Trump told the crowd.

No Democrat has won a US Senate seat in Kansas in 94 years, and Trump carried the state by 16 points in 2024. Republicans currently hold narrow majorities of 218-214 in the House and 53-47 in the Senate.
The rally comes as a Reuters/Ipsos poll puts Trump's approval rating at a record low of 31%, while the national average price of gasoline stands at $3.98 a gallon, according to AAA.
