Clashes resume after an approximately monthlong pause
The latest wave of clashes began when the United States attacked Iran-linked Larak Island on August 30. The strike ended an approximately monthlong pause in direct clashes.
Following the United States’ new attacks on Iranian territory, the government in Tehran responded with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles against U.S. military facilities across the region. Iran’s retaliatory attacks were also reported to have targeted U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
