Israeli police have extended for six more months the ban barring Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the imam and preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, from entering the mosque, according to local sources. Police informed his lawyer that the ban, which was due to expire this month, will now run until April 19.
Israeli police have repeatedly renewed the ban on Sabri since August 2024.

In recent years, Israeli authorities have detained and questioned Sabri several times, barred him from Al-Aqsa Mosque and imposed a ban on his travel abroad.
