Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made important statements ahead of his visit to Washington. Netanyahu said that during his meeting with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, July 28, they will address all issues on the agenda, including Iran.
Netanyahu, in a statement following the weekly cabinet meeting, said that he would travel to the US to attend the funeral of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. He described Graham as "one of the greatest friends of Israel since its founding."
The Israeli Prime Minister also addressed developments in the West Bank, announcing that he has ordered the expansion of military operations in the area. Netanyahu stated that operations of "raiding villages, conducting searches and detentions" will continue. Citing the example of the hospital raid in Nablus where two Palestinians were detained, Netanyahu claimed they were "hiding in the hospital" and announced that their homes would be demolished.
Netanyahu also stated that he spoke last night with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding the International Criminal Court (ICC). He noted that Rubio said the US "intends to take action against the ICC."
Reacting to the arrest warrants issued against him and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Netanyahu argued that the court "endangers justice worldwide." He claimed that ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan "created a protective shield to divert attention," and said, "That shield has now been removed."
