The APEC Summit could provide a setting for Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to meet at the same table. The possibility of a three-way meeting was discussed during a bilateral meeting between Putin and Xi.
Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, said the possibility had been discussed in talks between the leaders. Ushakov said Xi Jinping would host the APEC Summit, Donald Trump was expected to attend and Vladimir Putin had been invited to the summit.
According to Ushakov, the three leaders could meet if the conditions become suitable. If such a meeting does not take place, Putin, Trump and Xi Jinping could hold separate meetings.
