Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Iran had changed its approach toward U.S. forces and military bases in the Persian Gulf and that a maritime exclusion zone was being planned in response to the blockade and sanctions.
In a social media post, Rezaei said the zone would extend across the Persian Gulf to the blockade line. The Iranian official also said that a clear warning had been sent to Washington in recent days using new Iranian missiles.
Rezaei says there will be a response to the economic war
Describing the U.S. blockade and sanctions against Iran as economic warfare, Rezaei said Tehran would respond by establishing a maritime exclusion zone across the Persian Gulf up to the blockade line.
Rezaei also announced that the operational approach toward U.S. warships and military bases in the region had been significantly changed.

Ghalibaf says there will be a response to oil sales
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said there would be a strong response to oil sales in the region in connection with U.S. efforts to block Iranian oil exports.
Ghalibaf said that if Iran could not sell oil in a region, no one else would be able to sell oil there. Rezaei had previously said that if Iran’s neighboring countries supported the U.S. economic war, Tehran would close the Persian Gulf like the Strait of Hormuz and would not allow a single drop of oil to pass through the region.
