Energy investments announced by U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday included a natural gas-fired power plant in Texas, eight large nuclear reactors and the Alaska Liquefied Natural Gas Project.
One of the package’s most costly projects was the proposed $22.3 billion natural gas power plant in Encinal, Texas. The facility is planned to have a capacity of 6.5 gigawatts and would be one of the largest natural gas power plants ever built.

Trump said the plant would be one of the largest investments in the history of the country’s energy infrastructure. No construction schedule was announced for the project, which remains at the proposal stage.
Target of eight nuclear reactors
Trump also announced eight large nuclear reactor projects that he said would strengthen the United States’ position in the global nuclear energy sector. No details were provided on the reactors’ capacity, locations or commissioning dates.

The Alaska Liquefied Natural Gas Project was also included in the energy plans. Trump said that once the Alaska LNG pipeline is built, the United States would have the capacity to produce and transport approximately 4 billion cubic feet of liquefied natural gas per day.
