US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two leaders discussed the growing tensions in the Middle East and military options regarding Iran.
According to the official Saudi news agency SPA, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated during the call that priority must be given to dialogue to reduce escalation and ensure stability and security in the region.
The call took place shortly after Trump announced he had suspended planned large-scale attacks on Iran. The White House leader conveyed this decision to his Saudi ally.
Trump and bin Salman also discussed the strategic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the US, and prospects for further expanding this partnership in various fields.
Meanwhile, Axios news portal previously reported, citing anonymous sources, that the Saudi crown prince had conveyed to Trump his concerns about the new large-scale attack plans on Iran and urged the White House leader to refrain from carrying out these attacks to deescalate the situation.
