U.S. President Donald Trump hosted an official diplomatic reception for world leaders in New York during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The event was held Tuesday night at the Lotte New York Palace hotel on Madison Avenue in Manhattan’s Midtown district. The reception was attended by heads of state and government, government delegations and accompanying spouses who had come to New York for the high-level week of the General Assembly’s meetings.
The press was not admitted to the event, and no information was shared about the bilateral meetings held there, participants’ remarks or the list of invitees.
The annual reception, held during the first days of the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly, serves as a traditional diplomatic gathering between visiting world leaders and the host country.
