U.S. President Donald Trump said the decision to temporarily suspend the Ukrainian army’s access to Starlink service was not his.
While answering questions from reporters at the White House on Friday, October 16, Trump was asked whether he or billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of the service, had made the decision to suspend access. Trump said, "This was not me, and I don't think it was Elon either."
Assessing the service’s current status, Trump said, "As I understand it, everything remained as it was before."

Zelenskyy highlights speed restrictions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Starlink had not been completely shut down in Ukraine, but that the speed restrictions in place were making it more difficult to use the service for some military and humanitarian purposes.
Speaking on the sidelines of the European Union leaders’ summit in Brussels, Zelenskyy said Kyiv had received signals from the White House that the service would become fully available again.
