The American Turkish Association of Washington DC (ATA-DC) will hold its 24th Annual Turkish Festival on Sunday, Oct. 18, on Pennsylvania Avenue NW in downtown Washington. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. between 3rd and 6th Streets, and admission is free.

Folk dance groups will perform on the festival stage throughout the day. The organizers promise synchronized steps, colorful regional costumes and centuries-old traditions from different parts of Türkiye.
Visitors can try authentic Turkish dishes and sweets, Turkish coffee and tea, and have their fortunes read. The Turkish Bazaar will feature arts and crafts vendors, and the program also includes cultural exhibits and activities in a Kids’ Tent.

The festival is organized every year by ATA-DC, a Turkish American community organization in the Washington area. More information is available at turkishfestival.org.
