Delegations from Türkiye and Greece, led by ambassadors and including senior military and civilian officials, met on Friday in the Cretan port city of Chania for a new round of talks on confidence-building measures, Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense said in a written statement.
Hosted by the Greek Defense Ministry, the meeting reviewed the measures the two neighbors had agreed to implement throughout 2026 and discussed an implementation plan for 2027. The ministry described the atmosphere as positive.

The confidence-building track is one of the channels the two NATO allies use to reduce the risk of incidents linked to military activity in the Aegean. Türkiye will host the next meeting.
