Turkish consulate in Chicago hosts women's breast cancer awareness event

Türkiye's Consulate General in Chicago hosted an event organized by the Chicago Turkish Women Platform as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed every October.
The consulate said it was pleased to host the gathering, which brought together members of the Turkish American community in the Chicago area.
Raising awareness about early detection
Breast Cancer Awareness Month aims to promote screening and early detection of the disease. According to the American Cancer Society, about one in eight women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime, and regular screening greatly improves the chances of successful treatment.
