Houston consulate joins Texas Turkish groups' Republic Day celebrations
Türkiye's Consulate General in Houston attended Republic Day celebrations held by three Turkish associations in Texas and met Turkish citizens in Dallas and San Antonio.
The Turkish Consulate General in Houston attended Republic Day celebrations organized by the Turkish Society of Texas (TURKSOTX), the American Turkish Association of San Antonio (ATA-SA) and the American Turkish Association of Houston (ATA-Houston), ahead of Türkiye's Republic Day on Oct. 29.
The consulate said the events also gave its team the opportunity to meet Turkish citizens living in Dallas and San Antonio.
At the Turkish Society of Texas gala, Consul General Çağrı Sakar, who took up his post in Houston on Oct. 1, was presented with an award of appreciation.
Oct. 29 marks the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye in 1923.
