Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted the foreign ministers who came to Istanbul for the R4 and R4+E3 meetings at the Dolmabahçe Presidential Working Office on Friday.
Germany's Johann Wadephul, France's Jean-Noël Barrot, Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Pakistan's Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Egypt's Badr Abdelatty and Saudi Arabia's Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended the reception, along with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Erdoğan greeted each minister individually before the group posed for a family photo. No details of the conversation were released.

A new diplomatic platform
Earlier in the day, Fidan chaired the R4 meeting of Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, followed by the first-ever R4+E3 session with Britain, France and Germany, joined by Italy. The talks covered the Palestinian issue, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, developments linked to Yemen and efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Speaking to reporters afterward, Fidan said a military intervention against Iran would be no solution and that the Strait of Hormuz must be reopened immediately.
