Turkish Americans from across the United States gathered in Miami with Republican Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina for a discussion on U.S.–Türkiye relations, the Turkish American Coalition said.
According to the organization, the gathering brought together members of the community from the states of Florida, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Georgia, as well as from New Orleans and elsewhere. Participants discussed relations between the two countries, regional developments and the importance of continued dialogue between the Turkish American community and Congress.

The coalition described Wilson as a longtime friend of the Turkish American community. It said Wilson, as co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Türkiye Relations and Turkish Americans, has consistently recognized Türkiye’s strategic importance as a NATO ally and regional partner.
Meeting follows TACCS gala
The meeting followed the annual gala of the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce of the South (TACCS), held in Miami in September to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Turkish Ambassador to Washington Sedat Önal and Wilson were among the guests at the gala.

The Turkish American Coalition thanked Wilson for joining the community in Miami and for his support for strong U.S.–Türkiye relations, and also thanked TACCS and its members for their event.
