Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff drew attention to the impact of personal life on sports while evaluating Lewis Hamilton’s recent upswing.
Wolff stated that a stable family life and overall personal balance can positively influence performance. According to him, when emotional, personal, and professional aspects align well, it can enhance an athlete’s strength.
On Hamilton’s side, the results support this view. The British driver secured victory at the Spanish Grand Prix, achieving the 106th win of his career.
Following this triumph, Hamilton rose to second place in the drivers' standings, trailing leader Kimi Antonelli by 41 points.
In his post-race assessment, Wolff also highlighted Hamilton’s harmony within the team, his relationship with the race engineer, and his strength on the track. He noted that Hamilton’s facial expression reflected happiness, reinforcing the positive picture.
The German team principal emphasized that success cannot be attributed to a single factor; alongside work discipline, emotional and personal balance are equally important.
