US President Donald Trump harshly criticized the Iranian administration on social media for its stance in nuclear negotiations. Trump described Iran's behavior as 'incredibly duplicitous' for first requesting talks and then publicly saying they did not meet with the US.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said: “Iranian administration is incredibly duplicitous. They request a meeting, they even beg, meetings begin and more are planned for the near future, and then they openly and proudly say they didn't have any meeting (with the US), nothing was discussed, and that they only negotiated with Oman.”
The US President claimed that despite Iran's statements, the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the US Navy. Trump said that until Iran signs a deal, no ship that they do not allow will pass through the strait.
At the end of his post, Trump once again reiterated his stance that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
In a statement the previous day, Trump had announced that negotiations with Iran would restart today and that planned attacks had been halted.
