A White House official said U.S. President Donald Trump is ready to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un without preconditions.
The official said there had been no change in U.S. policy toward North Korea. The official also recalled that Trump held three summits with Kim Jong-un during his first presidency that helped ensure stability on the Korean Peninsula.

South Korean intelligence assessed the possibility of a summit
The National Intelligence Service of South Korea told the National Assembly’s intelligence committee during a briefing that a possible summit between Trump and Kim should be viewed as an option that could take place at any time.
On August 19, Trump said he got along well with Kim Jong-un and that he could meet the North Korean leader toward the end of the year.
