Ukrainian President Zelenskyy assessed the outcome of three rounds of talks held yesterday in Kyiv with U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Zelenskyy said he met with Witkoff and Kushner both privately and in sessions attended by the delegations. Representatives from France, the United Kingdom and Germany also took part in part of the talks.
Air defense and a winter package were on the agenda
The talks addressed Ukraine’s air defense needs, technological cooperation in this area and the package needed for the winter period in concrete terms. Zelenskyy said the partners knew which steps could produce results and, in particular, which preparations needed to be completed before winter arrived.
Zelenskyy said the next steps had been coordinated and that preparations were being made for further talks and communication. Saying that Ukraine’s proposals were constructive, Zelenskyy said this approach would continue.
Witkoff and Kushner had previously met with Putin
Trump’s special envoys Witkoff and Kushner met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on September 5 and with Zelenskyy yesterday.
