Elon Musk, the world's richest person, said on Thursday that saving money for the future no longer makes sense because of artificial intelligence.
"Saving money for the distant future is pointless with the advent of super intelligent abundance," Musk said.

The remark drew criticism from commentators who pointed to Musk's own fortune, which has climbed past $900 billion following the public offering of his rocket company SpaceX, according to Futurism.
Musk has repeatedly predicted that AI will bring about widespread "abundance." In an interview with The Economist this summer, he said there "really won't be anything AI won't be able to do better than humans, apart from being human, perhaps," and that AI may exceed the sum of human intelligence in about five years.
