Elon Musk has warned Democrats that he will fight back if they use congressional power to investigate him, after reports that Democratic lawmakers plan to scrutinize his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and his companies if they win control of the House in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
"Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them," Musk said.

The warning followed a Politico report that Democrats are preparing investigations into DOGE and SpaceX should they retake the House. Rep. Robert Garcia of California, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said Democrats have "a lot of questions" about Musk and DOGE that they "plan to investigate." SpaceX's multibillion-dollar contracts with NASA could also come under scrutiny.
Musk has become the biggest known donor of the 2026 midterms, spending roughly $366 million to help Republicans keep control of Congress, according to figures first reported by The New York Times and confirmed by a spokesperson for his super PAC. The total includes $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, $76 million to his America PAC and $10 million to Lone Star Liberty PAC, which backs Ken Paxton's Texas Senate campaign.
