Pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Tokyo have called for a complete boycott of Israel, marching through the Japanese capital with Palestinian flags.
Widely circulated footage shows the crowd carrying a giant Japanese-language banner that translates as "Boycott! Apartheid state Israel," while protesters hold signs saying "Stop Genocide." The exact date of the footage could not be independently confirmed.
A wave of protests in Tokyo
Pro-Palestinian protests have become more frequent in Tokyo in recent weeks. On Oct. 7, the third anniversary of the start of Israel's war on Gaza, about 1,000 people marched roughly 4 kilometers through Shibuya, from Jingu-dori Park past the famous scramble crossing to Omotesando.

Last week, demonstrators gathered outside Ikebukuro Station to condemn Israel's actions in Gaza and the West Bank and to urge Japanese companies to end business ties with Israeli military-linked firms.
