Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated the people of Türkiye on the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic in a statement released by the U.S. Embassy in Ankara on Oct. 29.
"On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Türkiye on the 103rd anniversary of the founding of your Republic," Rubio said.

Ties to mark a century next year
"As our countries prepare to commemorate 100 years of diplomatic relations next year, the partnership between the United States and Türkiye remains vital," he added.
The United States and the Republic of Türkiye established diplomatic relations in 1927, when Joseph Grew became the first U.S. ambassador to the new republic. The two countries have been NATO allies since Türkiye joined the alliance in 1952.
The message came a day after President Donald Trump and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone and discussed Türkiye-U.S. bilateral relations.
