U.S. President Trump made statements about Venezuela and Iran at an election rally in Texas ahead of the congressional midterm elections scheduled for November 3.
Trump said relations with Venezuela were “wonderful” and stated that the United States was buying large amounts of oil from the country. He also said that some American oil companies had significant investments in Venezuela.
Trump argued that Venezuela would soon become a prosperous country and said it could become the 51st U.S. state in the future. Trump said, “Perhaps in the near future, this could become our 51st state. It is possible; let’s make it happen and make it our 51st state. Instead of electing a president, let’s elect a governor.”
Trump argued that the war with Iran would end
Trump claimed that the war with Iran had been started by Iran in 1978, not by the United States, and held successive Iranian governments responsible for the deaths of many American soldiers.

Trump said that keeping oil and fuel prices high was a “quite small price” to pay in exchange for preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, and stated that the war would end soon. Trump also argued that Iran no longer had an army or navy.

Trump said fuel prices in the United States would fall rapidly within a short time and stated that he did not expect his Iran policy to harm the congressional elections. Asked whether he would attack Iran again, he replied that it was “definitely” the right decision and one of the best things he had done.
