Members of the Turkish community in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, gathered for a flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye.
Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown attended the ceremony, Türkiye's Consulate General in Montreal said, adding that "our glorious flag" was hoisted at the event organized by the community.

Small flags in hand
Footage from the ceremony shows participants holding small Turkish flags as the flag goes up the pole, some of them wearing red scarves for the occasion.
Participants also posed for a group photo in front of Charlottetown City Hall.
