Türkiye’s consulates general in Houston and Los Angeles marked the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic with receptions attended by Turkish citizens, American friends and members of the diplomatic corps.
In Houston, the consulate said it celebrated Republic Day “with happiness” together with citizens, American friends and representatives of diplomatic missions. Speeches were delivered in front of a screen reading “29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Bayramı.”

The Los Angeles consulate said it celebrated the anniversary “with great pride and enthusiasm” at its reception, where guests gathered for a group photo and framed tributes were presented.
In Boston, the Turkish Consulate General joined the New England Turkish Students Association’s (NETSA) traditional Republic Ball, celebrating the anniversary with students and Turkish citizens.
The receptions capped a week of Republic Day events across the United States, including flag-raising ceremonies at Boston and Newton city halls and community celebrations in Southern California.
