President Donald Trump told supporters at a campaign rally that the United States is earning "hundreds of billions of dollars" from oil because of the conflict in the Middle East, brushing aside concerns about high gasoline prices, Newsweek reported.
"My people say, please don't mention that, Sir, people are paying a little higher," Trump said. "I can just see the fake headlines." He added: "But I said, 'I don't give a damn, I'm gonna say it: We're making a frickin fortune.'"

According to AAA, the national average for regular gasoline was about $4.29 a gallon on Oct. 25, down from about $4.49 a month earlier but up roughly 40% from $3.06 a year ago. Diesel averaged about $6.35 a gallon.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom shared footage of the remarks and wrote: "Congratulations to Big Oil on their very successful, record-profits presidency."
